Privacy notice

This notice explains how Renov8 Construction collects and uses your personal information, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

Who we are

What we collect

When you enquire through this website, by email or on WhatsApp, we collect what you choose to give us:

• your name, email address and phone number;
• the type, location, budget and timing of your project;
• any message, plans or photographs you send.

Our hosting provider records technical information, such as your IP address and browser, to keep the website secure and running. The website does not use advertising cookies.

We use Google Tag Manager to load analytics tools that show us how visitors use the website, such as which pages they view and how they found us. These tools set cookies in your browser and send usage information to Google, which may store it outside South Africa. We do not use this information to identify you. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the website still works without them.

Why we use it

• to reply to your enquiry and arrange a consultation;
• to prepare proposals, contracts and invoices if you appoint us;
• to manage your project and keep you informed of its progress;
• to meet our legal, tax and regulatory duties.

We do not sell your information, and we do not send marketing messages without your consent.

Who we share it with

Only the people who need it to deliver your project: the professional team (such as architects, engineers, quantity surveyors and interior designers), our trade partners and suppliers, and our accountants and legal advisers. Each of them must keep it confidential. Our email, messaging and hosting providers may store information outside South Africa, under safeguards that POPIA allows.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries that do not lead to a project for up to two years. Project and contract records are kept for as long as the law requires, including tax and building records, and are then deleted or destroyed.

How we protect it

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to keep your information safe, and limit access to the people who need it.

Your rights

Under POPIA you may ask us to:

• confirm whether we hold information about you, and give you a copy;
• correct or update it;
• delete it, where we no longer need to keep it;
• stop using it for a purpose you object to.

Email info@renov8sa.co.za and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
